Colorado State Open 2016

We created the logo for Colorado's most prestigious and well-attended tennis tournament. This annual competition attracts professional, collegiate, and recreational players. The 2016 logo captured the history of the 125 year celebration and the energy of the game. The brand appeared on banners, hats, t-shirts, prizes, tickets, sponsor communications and online promotion.

The logo elements are a tennis ball rising like the sun over a chevron-patterned net that represents the mountains of Colorado. The years are emphasized with an argyle-inspired graphic, drawn from the history of the sport. The bright palette reflects colors found in modern tennis apparel and sporting goods and the a mix of modern, collegiate and retro typefaces further unify the brand qualities and logo elements.
